The future of Eswatini belongs to the youth of Eswatini who believes in the beauty of their dreams, and they are determined to transform their communities with their ideas.
According to the statistics, 79% of the 1.3 million citizens of Eswatini are below the age of 35 years old. The youth makes the larger share of the 28% of people who are unable to find jobs. This presents both an opportunity and a challenge for the government and the entrepreneurship community of Eswatini. Addressing the youth of Eswatini, the CEO of Launchit International Mr. Goitsemang J. Khutsafalo shared insights and motivation with the entrepreneurs, challenging them to rise to the occasion to solve the high youth unemployment rate of Eswatini.
Launchit International resolved that in 2020, the company will launch the first cohort of Project124 Entrepreneurship Development Program in Eswatini to give more young people an opportunity to develop their entrepreneurship skills as well as gain access to growth opportunities including training, mentorship, networking, funding and partnerships as far as Botswana and other countries participating in the Project124 program.
We’re thankful for your visit and we hope that our young people could learn more about how they transform their lives and their communities through entrepreneurship…Mma Gumede (Executive Director – Limkokwing Eswatini)
During his speech at the Limkokwing University, Mr. Khutsafalo emphasised the words of America’s former President, John F. Kennedy, who said“Ask not what your country can do for you, but ask what you can do for your country.” Imploring the youth to focus their energies more on being part of the solution and to live their youthful years in search for better ideas to better their communities.
Mr. Khutsafalo was also engaged in a number of meetings with different youth groups including entrepreneurs, youth business leaders, young professionals and the media. The Swazi TV’s morning show interviewed him about his thoughts on how the youth of Eswatini could align themselves with the opportunities in Eswatini and abroad, as well as possible interventions that the young entrepreneurs in Eswatini could maximise on to transform communities in Eswatini.
