I have to be a successful serial entrepreneur in 10 years by the grace of God…Tshegofatso Lame Pelekekae (CEO – Royals Hair Galore)

Building Royal Hair Fashions

When she was at University, Tshegofatso engaged in several investments and businesses. Most of the businesses failed due to her divided attention between school and entrepreneurship. Eventually, Pelekekae decided to start her hair business during her final year at university. Because of her experience with balancing school with entrepreneurship, she decided to create a Minimum Viable Size of her dream business. Immediately after her graduation, Tshegofatso decided to scale her business. This is the time she decided to join Project 124. “Project 124 took all my time and had to decide whether to go for profit or more training but luckily I had a partner of which we ended up deciding I can do the training while she looks after the business.”

Project124 Experience

“I completed the training and was afforded the opportunity to be mentored and funded by Mr Kgosikhumo who further gave us light and more wisdom in entrepreneurship. My highlights in the program where the pitch sessions and the Kgale view hill climbing. From the pitch-sessions I learnt to overcome fear and how to lure an investor into funding. The Kgale hill climbing session taught me about the patience and perseverance that is required for businesses.

I hold these lessons closely to my heart and apply the wisdom. Mr. Sibusiso Kgosikhumo (Project124 Mentor & Investor) taught us further how to be smart when managing a business, the key things which make business success. My business is now doing fairly well. I am now at a point of expansion. I have just been operating by myself and managed to buy a machine for wig production. I am now about to buy more machines, brand, hire more employees and take the business fully into the market. The Covid-19 has been a major setback as my suppliers have been closed since December.” – Tshegofatso Pelekekae.

Future plans

My next step after the business has picked up God willingly is to Hair-Weave Manufacturing and then Hair-Braid Manufacturing. Other than those I am interested in opening other businesses such as clothing, cleaning, cosmetics manufacturing company on the side.

I really should be a successful serial entrepreneur by 2030, by the grace of God. I am now focused on this current business and my hope is that by end of 2021 the business should be a success. However, in 10 years I should be employing and mentoring and funding more businesses. My end game is to retire into farming and investing as well as full time Ministry as a Gospel Musician and Mother. But what do we know, God is the author of my life.
